KLOTZ fiber optic
audio and video applications
Audio systems primarily use MM 50/125 μm multimode fibers (type OM2e or OM3). The typical transmission rate is 100 MBit/s to 1 GBit/s; transmission ranges of up to 2 km are given depending on the system.
Given their high bandwidth needs, modern video transmission systems almost exclusively use SM 9/125 single-mode fibers with ranges of up to 10 km.
